I never really understood how uncrdeidible google really is. I have used it for EVERYTHING. Like Chigusa said, when we go to reasearch something, we usually feel very rushed and our time is limited so we automatically go to google becuase we know something on the topic wil pop up. However; we, or I should say I, never stop to think that maybe what I'm reading isn't all that true. I completely blame the internet for me being so gullible. :)

Google has been the main source of information I use since it has existed. When I open a new browser google greets me. I have rarely had time to actually check the source when I find information on google, and I am learning this is definetely not the way to go about my research. It seems that "google" isn't what's wrong, it's our lack of knowledge to help us fish out the good information.

I feel that these articles just showcase the statement of 'I never knew that I never knew'. As your basic computer/internet user why would I know or really need to know about a more concise or factual search engine? As a student, the information becomes highly valuable. I am glad to hear that Tarrant County College is making the computer competency mandatory for all students, I think that most colleges should follow suit. If teachers demand brilliant and life changing reports from their students then their students should be given the tools with in which to make that happen. Right??

I thing Fadel is right, by chosing a subject that erroneous perceptions were enough to convince how accurate are information online;i personal believe that an individual should make i peer evaluation, for estates if the individual
make a resarch on physiology he/she perhaps should evaluate the accuracy through the
great Britain association of physiology and perhaps go to American physiology association
and such until he/she is sure that the search information is accuracy.
The first part would motivate students to become better researchers. The second part would pose an even greater challenge because of the political implications: to show teachers how their teaching methods and assessments were flawed. Although identifying the problem was easy, finding a solution proved more difficult—after all, it involved resarch had to be changed And students had to be taught how to use the appropriate resources. That topical research is mind numbing and a waste of students' time - the mere gathering of information requiring little thought or imagination. I thing douple or trepple check, shows how research the student might focus on questions of import that would require that students make answers instead of collecting them.

I have always used Google for ALL my research, and I never though about how much of the information on it could actually be really false. I never really checked my sources because I always trusted that it was probably correct. This article made me realize that google is not as accreditable as I have made it. I need to start checking my sources!!!
